Home Care Services Across Philadelphia & Pittsburgh

At Care Nest Home Care, we know "home care" can mean a lot of different things depending on what your family actually needs — and that's exactly how we've built our services. Below you'll find the full range of in-home support we offer across the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas, from everyday companionship and personal care to specialized support for Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Every service can stand on its own or be combined into a custom care plan, because the right kind of care should fit your family — not the other way around.

Patient and Family Services

Companion Care

Companion Care

Loneliness is one of the most overlooked risks of aging, and companion care exists to solve it. A companion caregiver visits regularly to talk, share meals, play games, go for walks, or simply sit and keep someone company — turning empty hours into connected ones. For many families, this is the first step into home care, offering support before more hands-on help is needed.

Companion care also includes practical help like accompanying a loved one to appointments, running errands together, or assisting with light scheduling and reminders. It's ideal for seniors who are largely independent but shouldn't be alone all day, giving families real peace of mind without a heavier level of care.

Personal Care

Personal care covers the hands-on, day-to-day tasks that become harder to manage independently — bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and help moving safely around the home. Our caregivers are trained to provide this support with patience and discretion, preserving as much independence and dignity as possible for the person receiving care.

Because personal care often involves sensitive routines, we focus heavily on caregiver-client compatibility, taking time to match personalities and communication styles. Whether care is needed a few hours a week or daily, personal care from Care Nest is built around consistency, so your loved one sees a familiar, trusted face.

Homemaker Services

A safe, clean, well-stocked home is easy to take for granted — until it becomes difficult to maintain. Homemaker services cover the practical side of daily life: light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery or errand runs, so your loved one can keep living independently in a home that stays comfortable and functional.

These services are especially valuable for seniors recovering from an illness, living alone, or simply needing a hand with tasks that have grown physically challenging. Many families pair homemaker services with companion or personal care for a more complete level of day-to-day support.

24/7 Senior In-Home Care

Some situations call for more than scheduled visits — they need continuous, around-the-clock support. Our 24/7 senior in-home care provides overnight and full-day coverage for seniors who need supervision, help with mobility, or assistance at unpredictable hours, giving families confidence that their loved one is never truly alone.

This level of care is often chosen for seniors with a higher fall risk, advancing memory conditions, or needs that require someone present at all times. Care Nest coordinates rotating caregiver schedules so your loved one always has consistent, attentive support, day and night.

Alzheimer's Care

Caring for someone with Alzheimer's takes more than patience — it takes training in how to communicate, redirect, and respond to the specific behaviors the disease can bring. Our Alzheimer's caregivers are experienced in creating calm, predictable routines that help reduce confusion and agitation while keeping your loved one safe.

We work closely with families to understand each person's history, preferences, and stage of the disease, so care feels personal rather than clinical. From safety monitoring to meaningful daily activities, our goal is to support quality of life at every stage of Alzheimer's — for both the individual and the family caring for them.

Dementia Care

Dementia affects every person differently, and our caregivers are trained to adapt rather than apply a one-size-fits-all approach. We focus on structure, familiarity, and gentle communication techniques that help ease frustration and confusion for both the individual and their family.

Beyond day-to-day supervision, dementia care from Care Nest includes support with routines, safety in the home, and companionship that helps preserve a sense of identity and connection. We understand how emotionally demanding dementia caregiving can be on families, and we're here to help share that load.

Parkinson's Care

Parkinson's disease brings unique physical challenges — tremors, balance issues, and changes in mobility that increase fall risk and make everyday tasks harder. Our caregivers are trained to assist safely with movement, transfers, and daily activities while encouraging as much independence as possible.

Because Parkinson's symptoms can fluctuate throughout the day, consistency matters. Care Nest caregivers get to know each client's patterns and needs closely, adjusting support as symptoms change and helping families navigate the progression of the disease with confidence.

Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Support

Support for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities should center on the person, not just the diagnosis. Our caregivers help with daily living skills, routines, and community engagement in a way that respects each individual's abilities, preferences, and goals for independence.

Whether support is needed for a few hours a week or more consistently, Care Nest works with families to build a care plan that fits real life — encouraging growth, stability, and meaningful participation in everyday activities.

Respite Care

Family caregivers give so much of themselves, and even the most devoted caregiver needs rest. Respite care provides temporary, trustworthy coverage — from a few hours to several days — so family members can recharge, travel, or simply take a breath, knowing their loved one is in good hands.

There's no minimum commitment required to use respite care; it flexes around your family's needs, whether that's a recurring weekly break or occasional coverage during a busy stretch. It's one of the most appreciated services we offer, precisely because it takes care of the caregiver, too.

Multilingual Staff

Communication is the key to a relationship. We provide a customized care plan to service our patients. The plan includes language preference.

Licensed Clinical Workers

It is important for Caregivers to have the skill and experience to service special needs. Our Caregivers are licensed and provided with continued educational and professional development classes.

Quarterly Site Visits

Care Nest provides families with a care package that includes oversight. The first visit is an intake visit to create a care plan. The next visit is an introduction visit that includes the family and Caregiver. The Case Manager assigned will complete quarterly site visits with the patient and/or family and Caregiver.
